- The sheets were still warm. Woke up from a dream but the world was so blurry. It didn't look like it did in the movies. No chalk outline. No ghost to tell me where to go so I left and never looked back. A body is only worth the soul it houses within. Your photo hangs on my wall. You hang heavy on my heart. What do you say when you've seen someone completely disappear? You say goodbye in service of a higher being? Well, I've decided. I'm letting go. You'd be so disappointed in me. No longer shining on this darkness

- It's always a bad idea when it comes to me but you're still here and I'm not breathing. Coded messages from the bottom of the sea. I’ve been waiting so long for something to find me. They're swimming with whales while I'm grabbing onto the sea floor. Millions still between us. I’m dreaming again. It’s rained all week, so just let me sleep. You were in it, you know, a shark circling me. I heard you whisper but all I felt were teeth. It's rained all week. When it comes to me, you might as well leave.

- The sun rises with purpose. Pull me. The soundless dawn brings me forward. Proclaim yourself my new light but don't come out before night falls on me. Bring this to bear. The hounds of love aren't hunting me, lost their scent on a boy who doesn't weep. Who doesn't weep? Who doesn't need? Who doesn't sleep? The hounds of love are on me.

- I’ve severed all my ties. I’m never coming back. These trees have pulled up roots and I’m going along with them. I’ve weathered the storm. I’m safely in port, but the wind’s bringing all these boats to shore. So don't say something means so much when nothing could be further from home.

- The seasons can change with just a turn, with just a phrase, but I can't find the words to make this winter come. If all these thoughts could come screaming out, I'd silence the earth. I'd shatter the walls. I'm drinking away the notes I'd sing in the brightness. I'm tired of light. I'm sick of false returns. The sun has blocked the path I chose. I'm drifting now. I'm lateral. Raise up the moon. Bring on the cold. Open caskets. Keep mine closed. I want to be buried in the dark. I've climbed these mountains of thought. All I found were corpses of the young. Well, you couldn't bring them back. Words are worthless. I'll never speak again. Language will never bring them back.

- Hard to halt desire when you've gorged your whole life. I've grabbed the grapes and drank the wine. What do I have left? Oh, crashing waves, wash this away. This endless need that circles me. There's no point in fighting when fighting means losing. I'm fighting every day. Tired of taking so many lovers in. I'll spit the world out and keep to myself. This is a sermon on discontentment. This is a lesson on disillusion and I'm preaching from a rotten pulpit. I'm not taking in anymore, so tell me why I keep singing these songs over and over again?
